First - a bit icky tbh <3 The smudging is a little too sharp and the brush size too small for my liking - would prefer the 'particles' to be a little more spread out, a bit larger and much fewer. Focal point is pretty good but its been over-sharpened and over-contrasted. You've also over-done the colouring a bit - lost any real contrast in skin tone. I like the soft lighting but it doesn't really suit the contrast that you've added to the stock. It's growing on me the more I look at it - particularly the left hand side where you've not done so much smudging but kinda goes downhill from there.

Second - similar issues to the first for me here - the central focal point is over-sharpened, the blurry bambooey thingy overlapping the girl's head is a bit distracting and it all seems over-contrasted again. You don't seem to have over-done it with the colours in this one - it's all just inherently red from the stock I presume which works fine. Lighting is good but it all just feels a bit messy for both pieces. Almost feels to me like you might be trying a little too hard - some of my favourite tags look like they could've been done in about 5 layers (although they probably weren't). Imo you should try and keep more of the original stock and work with the colours/lighting/whatever that you have there rather than trying to force it to be something different.

thanks dude. for the first the stock was suuuuper desaturated. =[ but yeah, i agree with everything you said. i'm generally not used to using stock photos, though, mostly renders. D= but yeah, definitely need to practice a bit more.
