How would you give an image that one effect where the person looks like they're glowing or faded? I dunno how best to describe it.

How would you give an image that one effect where the person looks like they're glowing or faded? I dunno how best to describe it. Not 100% sure what you're after - an example would be helpful. If you mean the sort of dream-like hazy white blur that you sometimes get then that can be done by duplicating the imaging (or apply image if you've got lots of layers). Then gaussian blur and set the layer mode to lighten or screen. Not sure if that's what you meant - as I said an example would be helpful.

It might also just be a case of layer FX - outer glow/drop shadow - but yeah, do show us the image so we can work out which one it is.

Well i've seen them all over proboards but i think i've got the effect with duplicating the layer, then add a gausian blur, then setting the blurred layer to overlay. Original Pic: New Pic:

You might be able to pull that off in Photoshop by going to your Blending Options, coloring the entire layer and then playing with the opacity and stuff.
Additionally, you could also just use the Outer Glow feature on the layer.

No i don't want to pull that off as i'm the one that did that. I was just wondering if that was what the images would look like.
