Forum URL: wildcatmania.proboards9.comIs there a way to do a mass account activation? Apparently since the upgrade or around that time anyone registering at our site has had to wait on being activated. There was no email sent to the admin account notifying of the need to activate and now I have approx 100 members that never were activated. Help please

Are they using AOL? There is no way to do a mass activation though.

If they still can't get it, tell them to get their activation key resent.

I'm aware of the AOL stuff. That isn't the issue. The problem is that in the general settings of the board the "limited registration" was set to yes instead of no. I assume it was the default after the upgrade or one of the board admins set it by mistake.
Now I have a lot of members that need to have their accounts activated by an admin. That is the message they get when they try to login. When I look at their profile their accounts are set to disabled, so I have to enable the account manually. That is what I want to do by mass activation if it is possible.

In your admin panel under manage members do you see a link for "view pending members" Ya can approve members in there that way.

Didn't have the option. I will just mass email everyone and ask those that need to be activated to let me know.
Thanks for the help.

The main admin can set your powers to be able to "approve members" in the modify group section of his admin panel. What you did with the email is a good idea also.

Snakeair, when the forums were first upgraded, some boards had the limited registrations already set to yes, but that wasn't fully working. Anyone who signed up during that time, and the time it was fixed, will have their account diabled, but not show in the view pending members.

When AOL or whoever blocks the activation email, they sometimes sent an email to the sender; "This users isn't accepting..." etc.
Is there any way, or plans for any way, to have email coming back to the board get sent to a specified email address? So if someone replies to the activation email, they reply to this specified address?

No. You can have a special e-mail account and have a message on your board that when they have problems registering or logging in, they have to sent an e-mail to that address. But not directly from the activation e-mail.
I can't say if there are plans for it. You could suggest it when the suggestions board opens up again.

I have tried three times to create a user on the Enfield Island Village forum and three times I've entered an activation code and three times it has remained... pending approval..... Despite owning a sledgehammer I would like to use something smaller to crack this nut..... any ideas anyone..... My forum administrator is new and says that it is all controlled by a 'third party'.. is that you BTW this account was created in minutes

Sounds like that admin needs to go into general settings in his admin panel and take off "limit registration" and set that to NO.
Then go into admin panel again and look under "manage members" and approve any members in there. There should be a link for "view pending members"
Now if that admin doesn't check his admin panel to approve members or disable this feature there is nothing proboards staff can do for you to get your account approved. Just have to wait or send that admin a email if you know his email address.
