Hi, this isnt a request...yet, but this looked like the best place to ask my stupid question. If I were to request a Flash Animated Signature, could it be done? or will it be rejected?

Flash animations wont be rejected just for it being Flash. I know Flash can be used in the banner, in posts and even as a splash page, but I have never heard of a way to use it as a signature.
If anyone can come up with a code to use Flash in a signature I'll be more than happy to create the Flash animation.

Oh you need a code? I didnt know that lol, I thought it was just like any other image where all you do is make the image itself, and then use the BB codes [/img] But ok, I went through the web, did a quick google search and found a code. There are a few things to consider though: - In all the searches I got, all of them say that to be able to use flash animations in BB codes, you have to use .swf files. Im not sure if any other type of file would work, but yeah...
- Once you do have the animation in a .swf file, you would be able to use this code:
[flash=Option]value[/flash]
- The only thing is, Im not sure if you can use this code in Proboards, but maybe a staff member can clarify.

Actually Flash needs a couple of parameters like this:
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=10,0,0,0" width="400" height="125" id="Movie.swf" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"> <param name="movie" value="URL for Movie.swf"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff"> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> <param name="scale" value="noborder"> <param name="menu" value="false"> <embed src="URL for Movie.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="400" height="125" name="Movie.swf" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> </object>
I don't think you'll be able to put that in your sig because of the character limit of 400.

But isn't that an html code? I thought for signatures here in proboards, you needed to use BB codes.

I'm not a coder, I'm just a designer. You will just have to find some way to place it "where-ever" you wanna place it.

This is what you'll need to do. First, whoever makes your image will give you a code, like RaDesign posted, and the flash image. You'll need to upload the image to a place that will take swf images. Ripway is one but there are oodles of others. Once you upload you'll take the link and put it in the flash code the maker gives you. >>Edit: I'm not positive how you go about transfering the image someone makes you to your own computer and uploading it. I'm stuck on that at the moment. Since I made my image I could freely upload it but "save as" isn't an option with my flash image so hmmm. Maybe someone else knows that bit, otherwise "the someone" who makes it may have to host it for you as well. I'm sure there is a way, I just don't know it yet .<<End of edit...read on...
Then jump over to So Cal and grab this code. Once you put so cals code in, put the flash code where it says to put your html. Then go to your profile and stick [thescript] (exactly how I have it) in your signature. I made a quick stupid flash image and have it working here. (No laughing at the lame flash animation.) It is really very easy to set up. The hard part will be who ever designs your flash as I just read what you want and gulp....good luck to whoever does it.

Oh very cool tumbleweed! Just what I needed. Been searching the web for a code and Ive come up short (I kinda suck at searching through the web ), so this is very much appreciated. I'll figure out how to host, and/or hopefully someone else will know this part. lol. So RADesign (or anyone else), are you up for the challenge (well I don't even know if its a challenge but yeah, ) ? If you are then take a look here. PS: You really think my sig is hard tumbleweed? lol. I've seen pretty awesome flash sigs, and compared to mine, mine looks pretty easy. Here is one that I found. Its pretty cool, but yeah...

Well, it seems hard to me but I've only made 4 flash animations so I'm just learning. Plus I'm not so great with graphics anyway. It may be easy for someone like RADesign. And yes, I've seen some pretty awesome ones myself. The one you linked to is cool. I'll be watching to see what you end up with.

Well, it seems hard to me... LOL. Just hard? OJ, what Tumbleweed means is that your request is basically impossible. Since she has some experience at this she knows what it takes to compose a Flash animation and you obviously don't. You would have to provide separate images for the background, each of the soldiers and wolverine to make something like this to work. It's just impossible to create an animation from from just one image.

Well, whenever I say something is hard or impossible someone comes along and proves me wrong. But yes, that was my initial thought...impossible. That would mean filling in a background where you remove the different elements and that would be hours of work to make it look right, if you even could. BTW: I'm a she.

Yeah, I don't have any experience. Did I not mention that? lol . Well ok Ill provide separate images for my animation. No worries, just give me some time and I'll get back to you. Cool
