Layout Review + Suggestions?

I would love for some reviews on the layout, suggestions too please. <3

The general feel is good, colour scheme works. Just a few specific suggestions.

- The background isn't quite wide enough on my monitor (1280px wide I believe). Might be worth having a look at.
- I think the banner needs to spread out to the border around the forum. Doesn't seem right as it is for some reason.
- Also, increase the contrast a bit on it, it's looking a bit flat.
- Last point about the banner, then I'll shut up don't like the whole 400px tall thing, but that might just be personal taste.

Do like it though
- I like the navbar mod, but extend it so it's the same width as the forum. You could maybe stick a PM bar on the far right hand side to use up the space?

Oh I love how you have it centered! Not many sites have that quality so it gives it uniqeness. Also I might suggest side boxes, and maybe with a cbox?

Alright, I've resized the background image? Still tiling or did that size change get the problem? Also, I played with the banner a bit, and raised the contrast. Look better?

'll look into the Navigation changes, and see if I can get that done. <3

I'm actually against using side tables, we've never had them in the year we've been around, and I don't plan on adding them any time soon. I also have a personal thing against c-boxes, refresh is annoying to me and I can't afford having premium. <3

The one thing i would look at is the image sizes - the BG comes in at over 1mb, which is HUGE for a static image. It does make a site offputting if it takes ages to load in.

It looks great you have the colours blending well.

There are only two things that bother me, the background starts repeating itself at the right. And the banner is too tall for my taste, if i where using the forum it would bother my having to scroll down that extra bit.

Apart from that there is not much i could criticize! (constructively of course!)

I have to agree with a lot of the things Anselm and Graham mentioned.

I have a high speed cable intenet connection and I still had to wait for the background image to load.

One point I disagree on, is the color scheme though. To me, that is an obnoxious color of pinky-purple and there is so much of it. I guess the best way I can discribe how that color makes me feel is angry as opposed to colors that make me calm, happy, hungry, etc. The colors you have on your forum body are fine but the images make it too much. I would much rather see the tint subtle like in the #caa6ca range. That would bring out the black in the cats more and work better with the black lines you have outlining your border around the forum.

I do agree you don't need side tables at all when you have the tabbed table.

I'm not having a problem with your banner as for me it is the exact width of your forum. (FF & IE) I do have to agree the height is a bit too tall for me.

I do really like how you kept things clean with no clutter and the layout is good.

I would like to mention I see the forum shift on the first load in FF and it is probably because you have some widths incorrect. For example your border is actually 726 pixels wide and you have 710 pixels in the border code.

So all in all, I do like it. I'd just like to see the background and banner to not be so much of a bright pink-purple and the images to load in a snap.
