So this is my first real try with photoshop. I'd like people's opinions on my first try at a sig.

That's a great first try!
What are you using to cut out? There's a few easier ways that wont leave those white pixels around the outside of stuff : )

^ I agree, some feathering should be used around the picture for cutting or maybe a different technique. Otherwise, it is good, but a little plain in my opinion. My some lighting effects and other photo effects and so on, but very good for a first sig!

I personally use the Pen Tool for cutting out, then you don't even need to feather : ) It's nifty once you get the hang of it!
Yeah, ourdoomsdayx is right, it is a little plain but that's nothing an overlayed texture couldn't fix ; D

Thanks, good to hear. As for what I used to cut out, I just used the blend if thing when you double click on the layer. As for the pen tool, I couldn't get it figured out, and I have no idea what you mean by feathering.
How would one go about doing the overlayed texture?

There's some excellent tutorials on DA for using the pen tool : D
As for textures, that's another easy one. Just go to DA, search for textures, and put one over your signature. Set the layer mode in the layer's panel to Overlay or really any of the other settings that suit your fancy!
