I'm David, 29.
I keep gerbils, though I have had two gerbils deaths recently (one of old age and one of suspected stroke), Storm, who died on Christmas day and Sandy who was my original gerbil (of a pair but her sister died a long time ago).
I currently have one gerbil, Ebony, who was in a split tank with Sandy, but Ebony was always scared every time I tried to introduce them, she was shaking like a leaf, which is probably because Pets At Home put her back in with her old cagemate after being brought back, so Ebony would have had to fight for her survival in the other's territory.
Sandy was a very caring gerbil, and it turned out that Sandy was feeding Ebony sunflower seeds through the divider! She even de-shelled them first, that's how kind she was. lol
Ebony was an adoption gerbil, I got her aged 8 months old, I've had her for a year now.
