Are members allowed to send PM's to each other containing adult content or links to adult content?
If yes, is it ok for members to post on the board an invitation for other members to PM them to request such link or content to be sent to them via PM?
If no to the first question, is it ok for members to post on the board an invitation for other members to send their email address so the link or content can be sent to them via email?
Thanks.

I'm not asking if pornography can be posted in the forums because the TOS already makes it clear that it cannot. I'm asking, if someone were to say they wrote a story that is too risque for the board but if someone would like a link to it they can PM the writer, would that be ok to do.
Edit: So to reiterate, would it be ok for someone to say something to the effect of:
"I wrote a story that's too risque (or too adult) for this forum, but if anyone wants to read it, just send me a PM."
Would that be ok?

If an adult sends it to a child,NO. Also they should send it through e-mail. Like I said, any of that type isn't allowed, even through PM. otherwise it'll back fire you & the accuse might use it against you, in which case it'll be reported,so I suggest no.

Thank you for elaborating on your previous answer, which brings me to another question. What if somebody PM's her friends at the forum with adult content or links unbeknownst to the board's administrators or moderators?

still this is a TOS violation and if staff dose this,
if it is the admin account the fourm WILL be removed if other staff the admin MUST remove the content within 24-48 hour(i dont remmembers how long) or the fourm WILL be removed

It seems like some people here do not know. Just wait for a member of staff to reply for a final answer

That's a no. The boards should not be used for any 'adult' content whatsoever.

if other staff the admin MUST remove the content within 24-48 hour(i dont remmembers how long) or the fourm WILL be removed It the content is only in a PM then that would be hard to do. That's a no. The boards should not be used for any 'adult' content whatsoever. Craig I don't personally write stories of any kind and wouldn't be interested in posting links to adult stories either publicly or privately, but I would be too concerned about such a strict TOS that even involves PM's to start my own forum here. Thank you for your final answer. It helps to know these things before starting a new forum, and I will just have to keep looking.

Well, at the end of the day, PM's are private, you can't help what someone sends another, but if the forum was there specifically for that reason, then we would delete the board, otherwise, we are none the wiser.

Thanks for the clarification, Craig. I was starting to wonder if Proboards staff went around reading private PM's, and that would just be disturbing. I'll give it some more thought before choosing a forum provider. I just don't want to jump out of the pan and into the fire or worse, but then nobody can be worse than the service we have now. How they can possibly be the world's largest discussion network is beyond me.

If abuse is reported in PMs the staff will ask for a screenshot. Someone unofficially suggested a "Mark PM for admin" to report PM abuse, but the staff won't pay attention to it until they suggest it when the suggestion board reopens.

I didn't figure they would go around reading everyone's PM's but reading it again I can see how it could sound like that lol. I think it would be very easy to query the entire database all at once for specific words if they were so determined to enforce such a strict rule though, and either way you look at it would be an invasion of privacy.

No, we are very big on invasion of privacy, we don't like it. PMs are private, and will remain that way.
