This is a 'sample' site to show to a company to prove that I can hand code html/css to W3C validation standards. I'm just wondering what would you do to make the design more 'wow'?

I'm trying to keep it fully WAI compliant (something else they want in this job ^.^;  I was more looking from the graphics view point - the html link colour willl be changed |

Maybe include a textured background.
And the birds in the banner are a bit distracting... along with that green thing in the bottom left corner...
