Story
Six weeks ago you received a letter in the mail telling you that you had won the Evil Corp Global Lottery. Since then your life has been a whirlwind of attention and events. Two days ago you were flown to South Dakota, a short drive in a limousine later you arrived at the town of Brindol. It was a stark contrast to the farms and countryside that you had been driving through. It first appeared as a black bar on the horizon. When you got closer you realized that there was a 40 foot wall encircling the entire town, artistic patterns ordained the wall with Evil Corp logos blended in. Brindol had been built on a hill, the center of town rising up like a big lump.

Driving through the wall was like entering a modern day castle. Once inside, the quaint town of Brindol looked just like any other mid-west hamlet. You arrived at a local bed & breakfast. Other limousines were lined up out front, other winners like yourself getting out and stretching their legs. In a week you would have a million dollars.

That first night you had a big dinner where you met the other winners, 12 including yourself. Everyone seemed nice, they were from all over. The next day everyone was driven in a caravan of black SUVs with tinted windows back out of town where you toured the Evil Corp Headquarters. You found it a little strange that the HQ wasn't in town but the tour was nice. Apparently each day you would be treated to a different tour followed by a fancy dinner or party.

That night there was a feast and you slept deeply. In the morning something was wrong, you knew it right away. There was no noise coming from outside. The b&b creaked in the wind. You slowly made your way downstairs, other winners stood in the lobby and kitchen. Everyone knew something wasn't right. You approached the front desk and rang the bell. There was a shuffling noise coming from the adjacent room. You rang the bell again. Silence. To the right of the front desk was a door. You heard a slight thump. Maybe something was wrong, your host was an elderly man. Maybe he was in trouble. You went to open the door, some of the other winners near you.

As you open the door the old man lunged out at you, his eyes glazed over. He was a zombie. You both toppled to the floor. His teeth gnashing out at you. One of the nearby winners grabbed the coat rack and beat him off you. After looking out the windows you see other zombies shambling outside. You and your fellow winners are trapped in a town over-run with zombies. A short time later you all gather in the kitchen.

Wildmaven stood in utter shock at what had happened. Slowly, her adrenaline abated and she looked around at the ragtag group of individuals who had saved her and who would be with her through this turmoil. As a chef, she eyed each of them for their food potential. A few were scrawy and she scratched them off of her list. A couple, however, would make a good meal should the need present itself. She began searching the area for anything that could prove useful, all the while keeping her ears open for sounds.

Also just a heads up to all players. The bed and breakfast is at 100/100 defense. So there is no need to reinforce defenses today. You also can't take a move action since there is only one stronghold on the map so far. You likely wont be making a group or individual decision either. Also everyone has 5 health so resting does nothing.

That means today's probably a good day to scout or search nearby.

Adam walks nonchalantly over to the old man's corpse. "It looks like this man starved to death!" Adam raises his hand and swings down violently, karate chopping the old man's arm off. "Don't worry old man, you shall not have died in vain!" Adam takes the arm and disappears into the kitchen.

Silence reigns in this small ramshackle room, and as Nick looks around fear is all that he can sense. What weaknesses lie here? Where will the chain snap? He makes sure to keep an eye on the chefs, both of whom seem to have a taste for human flesh. Have they already turned?
Only time will tell.

Calling forth calmness gained from years of meditation in the high mountain climes of Wudang, he steps forward: "I am Nick. Never before have I been in such a situation, but there is one thing I Know must be done. We must stick together to survive. It is only through the perseverance of our spirits that we will be able to find peace in this place. It will not be easy, but we Can escape." With that Nick strides out of the room radiating confidence, convinced that he can hold the chain together.

Seeing one of the other survivors outside, Nick introduces himself and joins him in Scouting North.

Upon his return, Nick will Defend South by Fighting with his Fists.

Day 1 Recap
After a rough morning the small band came together. Still unsure if they could trust each other they set out to find a way to escape this town. They broke into 3 groups.

The first group Patrick, Alex, and Nick carefully made their way north from the bed and breakfast. After a few close calls with the walking dead they came upon the Brindol Mall. After seeing undead milling about like drunken shoppers they made their way safely back to the inn.

The second group Crow, Etc and Pepper made their way east. Buildings lay in ruins. How could this have happened overnight? After turning a couple corners they came upon a sturdy looking house. Zombies stood in the street so they quickly retreated.

The remaining group decided to stay at the inn and search for anything useful. A few found items. Ren found a combat knife in a downstairs bedroom. Phaelyn located some aluminum sheeting and reinforced some downstairs windows. Kim overly shocked by the mornings events rested in a chair and watched the others work.
