Outbreak! (Ended)

Night 1 Recap
The group ate a small meal together. As the sun set moans could be heard from outside. It was as if the city was coming alive with the dead. Everyone took up positions defending doors and windows. Throughout the night zombies pounded on the walls. A couple windows were shattered. The aluminum sheeting that Phaelyn had put up seemed to help. From what the group could tell nearly a dozen zombies had attacked their little B&B.

As the sun rose the zombies wandered away, almost as if they evaporated in the morning rays. The little B&B was tough though and everyone got through alright.

Just a note, guys, I'm going to continue to search nearby until I can get some sort of weapon, since there's a high chance of attack for scouting.

As the group hunkered down for the night, some cowering in corners, others working hard to fortify the B&B, Wildmaven continued rummaging through the surrounding area. She picked up and discarded several items. One item was an autographed photo of Patrick Clinger that someone must have dropped. It looked well-loved. She considered using it to scare the zombies, but took pity on them. After all, some tortures were just too hideous, even for the undead. Finally, she decided to keep a comfy robe. After all, who knew how cold the house would be getting. She ran her hands over the plush softness and giggled at the little yellow ducks embroidered upon it. One of her fellow survivors gave her a stern look and she went back to helping fortify the structure.

everyone - Remember that searching nearby has diminishing returns. The more that people search the more likely they are to find nothing. There is always a chance though. Just keep that in mind after you been at the same stronghold for a few days.

kim - I tell you at night what you find. You just list your current weapon and your intention. Check to the last post on page 1 to see how Adam found a lighter, Ren found a knife, Wildmaven found a comfy robe, and Phaeyln found some defensive materials.

wildmaven & Everyone - Perfect. This is a good example of how I give you an item and then you customize it. You decide the description of it without changing what it ultimately is or does. Good job.

As the shock from the previous day's events wore off, Pepper couldn't believe how stupid she had been. Wandering off into uncharted territory with nothing but her fists? Idiot! She could have been killed! Her parents had always said she rushed into stupid situations without thinking. Kinda ruined a girl's confidence in her instincts when she was told that every da- Anyway! Today she'd need to be smart, not stupid and over-eager as she'd been the day before, even if she had been travelling in a group. It was pure luck that they hadn't been attacked the day before, and luck was never on Pepper's side for long. She decided to stay safe today (or as safe as you could be in a zombie infested area). Though many people had searched nearby the day before, she still figured that it was her best bet for the day. Maybe she'd find something useful.

Rule update Move: Adjacent strongholds are marked by red lines connecting two strongholds. Strongholds not connected have not been scouted yet and cannot be safely moved between.

An example on the current map is the mall and the house discovered yesterday. While you logically know there is a way between them you haven't scouted it.

Patrick notices Ren's shiny new toy. That knife would come in handy. A healer, with a knife? Please. "I'm a fighter" Patrick thinks to himself. I need to get that knife. I just met this person.. how can I get them to trust me? Or do I even need their trust? Maybe I should just take it. If they won't hand it over for their own good, I'll take what action is necessary.

Patrick walks up to Ren and says "Hey. I see you found a knife, which I just so happen to be an expert at using. I think you should give that to me -- for your protection." Patrick waits for a response..

Seeing Patrick talking to Ren concerned Phaelyn. I need that knife just as much as the next fighter, and Ren's not getting anything in return anyway...

As soon as Patrick was out of the room, Phaelyn slipped Ren a note.

Most of us are searching nearby tonight. Maybe you should wait before giving your knife to Patrick -- we might come back with something more useful for you.
