I do like this, the bg is really well used I feel. Like the subtle cell highlight, those are good. Love the banner too, simplicity is good.

Colour, yeah, the lack of it did stand out to me too. One thing is that one of the staff names isn't too visible (look in users active in last 24 hours). With regards to adding colour, yeah you do need to, possibly on the banner, thinking a creamy/yellow tint? Maybe similar for the link highlight (on rollover). "Welcome", "Links", "Info" the bgs could be coloured too? I think creamy would be good.

Although whenever I tried to do "creamy", it turned out as blah green. So I used purple.
Does it look better, at least?

The background has been used fantastically because of having an angel on the banner. It relates very well and makes sense.

The affiliates table I think you should have less images in. So have a limit, or at least a limit for how many show.
Reason being, if they were all different images, it'd take that much longer to load. Sure, affiliate banners aren't usually high in kb, but it makes all the difference for forum speed. Everyone likes fast loading forums/sites.
