I'm no expert but that is pretty nice! There are a couple things I noticed that may need adjusting.

The first image on the right seems to be valign top, the next one valign middle and the bottom valigned bottom? I think they may look better all middle valigned (maybe?) or start where the content starts? Maybe your way would end up being best. I'd have to see it.

I do think the space between the title and content needs to be a bit less than the space between articles. (Very apparent on the last article.)

The text next to the parrot is too close to the edge of where the yellow color ends, in my opinion. One or two pixels padding may help but would probably throw the last word on the next line, which may not look as nice.

I'm a little wishy-washy on whether I like the smaller logo (I like the logo itself) and the big menu text or not. But in the end, it is one of the nicer web-page designs I've seen here in a while. I'm happy with all your color choices for both text and background colors. It is super warm and inviting. The over-all white space, in my opinion, is near perfect. Just a nice, pleasant clean look.

Yeah aiming to middle valign all of them, I'm just too lazy to do it in Photoshop the spacing again is just me being lazy in PS and not exact enough, something to fix with CSS.

Parrot text depends on the text I use. Alternative is to just make the image less wide, but yeah also aware of that - I'll see what I can do.

Yeah the smaller logo/big menu text is the hierarchy issue I was talking about, glad you like the logo though

Get rid of that icky gloss on the logo I know you can do much better than that. Buttons are a little bit plain, and I know it's more of a minimal design but the lines between the buttons attract more than the buttons themselves Also not sure how I feel about the light-orange background on the left side menu... feels a bit out of place with the strong yellow. I think a light gray would suit it better. Also with the orange, either make the logo yellow or change all colors to orange Those two colors don't really combine well in a composition unless you have some blue or purple to balance them.

Yeah the gloss is a bit tragic actually
didn't notice that colour difference logo/everything else, oops
And I'll try out with the colours, just need to get back into all this again...

(edit: got rid of the gloss, sorted the logo colour, left bar I toned down the colour a bit, grey didn't look good)
