Light Skin Vs Dark Skin

When creating a skin, do you usually alternate between both dark skins and light, or do you always go for just one?

Definitely on my issue, it depends. Sometimes some kind of genre kind of suits the dark and gloomy touch while others would preferably look nice with light and lively array of colors. Though, if your so good in skinning, any kind would go nice with any as long as the people and community love it! Though, most of my skins are dark XP

I try to alternate between dark and light, but it usually winds up being "whatever works". Sometimes I'll start out with on colour scheme in my head, and it just turns into a different one because it winds up looking better that way.

I'm guilty of sticking to dark skins more often than not, even if it starts light it always ends up darker. I think my site has only had two skins out of eight that one could consider 'light'. Sad, but true, I can't work very well with light colors, no matter how hard I try.

I am working on a light skin at the moment, though. <3

I used to like dark skins more because they are easier to create, but light skins are the way to go as far as professionalism.

I do a lot of light skins because they draw the eye and keep people awake, but I don't mind when I have to do a darker one. Whenever I do light OR dark skins, the main thing is for everything to blend nicely, and for you to be able to read the text on the page. Medium skins are for when it's not a death and destruction site, but it's also not birds chirping, flowers singing junk. Sometimes, the sky is cloudy, but not raining. Not light, not dark. You need a happy medium.

This site is not too dark or too light. It is calm, and the blue invigorates your mind.

A dark skin of mine:

This skin is dark, but not so much that it is black. Black is unoriginal, and hard to work with. The deep, rich colors in this skin express life and mystery.

I am Starting up a COD zombie forum the home skin is a bit dark fits the theme right? sure zombies are dark but a skin is whatever you want it to be myself i dont like looking at dark forums so i created a second skin that is bright so users can choose bright or dark
