I've been developing a proboard for a while now, thinking of things such as places, story, etc...and now, finally, I get to create my design for it! But, I need a bit of help, so I want to get as many opinions as possible on 3 colors. What I mean is, what's your favorite base color, and two accent colors? Do you like teal and red (accent colors) on grey (base)? or yellow and white (accent) on black? (base) Just give me your strict opinions please. Choose any color of your fancy!

It all depends on the theme of the site. Since you've mentioned thinking about places and story, I'll assume you're developing some kind of roleplay site (feel free to correct me though).
Personally, I don't really like designs that are based on gray or black. For one, they're really popular, to the point where none of them manage to surprise me anymore. I might even confuse them for some other site at first glance, which is definitely NOT something you want people to do. I think the only other color that is as overdone as these is dark blue.
Secondly, gray and black are such neutral colors and thus don't really convey a roleplay setting for me (this is especially true with gray, which tends to remind me of dull, lifeless and anonymous cityscapes - again, something to avoid unless this IS your desired setting). You don't necessarily have to have bright colors as the base of your skin, but it certainly needs to have a hue. So maybe, instead of gray, use some kind of very desaturated teal or brown, and then add your accent colors to it.
Some of my favorite animal roleplay designs I've seen have used warm earthy tones, which instantly put me into the right mindset for nature. I'm not very familiar with human roleplays, but the ones I've seen have often got a very light background, like white or pale pink, and then brighter and darker accent colors, like salmon pink and blue. Maybe these are also too popular among people, but at least human roleplays seem let you use more texture effects to differentiate your skin.

Yellow and white on black would be more eye catching, but be careful that you don't put too much contrast, or people's head's will implode. Grey is overdone, and in fact, one of my forums, which is currently grey, is about to change around. I'd go with a theme. Not color theme, where you use warm colors or whatever. But a real theme. Is your site a sailor site? Use an ocean theme, and work your colors around that. Elves? Use a forest theme, and go with earthy browns and green. It just depends on what you need.

It's hard to base how colors are going to work together without seeing them in place, and how you're going to use them. Personally, I like colors that aren't going to strain my eyes, whether it's because it's too bright or too dark to the point where I can't read anything. With that said though, might I suggest you read these two threads from the discussion threads, specifically The Grey Skin Look and Choosing Colors For Your ProBoard. These are very helpful!

I agree with Candice, it's hard to image the colors you want from the ones you listed. Of course the ones I imagine in my head won't be the same as what you imagine. www.colourlovers.com/ Is a great resource for finding colors and palettes that you may like. Maybe try searching for palettes that include the combination of colors you're looking for, you might find something you really like.

I know, lol that's the point. I'm not asking for any particular advice or anything, just the colors you personally like to see combined. I'm sorry if I caused any confusion! I personally like black/grey with teal/purple, but that's just me, and I've seen lots of proboards with a green/yellow combination which I find interesting. Basically just share you're personal color opinion.
