Skin Critiques?

An old site I'm thinking of bringing back. For future design purposes, I was wondering what people think of the skin and graphics? All comments and constructive critisism are welcome, though please don't flame it without reason. What's good and what's bad?

I opened the window, and was blinded by an ugly, screaming flash of orange. That is, until the background loaded, which was the time that my jaw dropped, and I started to drool. The blinking banner is rather odd to look at, though. Not many people like an image that is constantly shifting. 9/10

Thanks! I'll keep page loading in mind. The banner was an experiment of mine, I was curious how well it would work out. I personally like it, since it's not like a rapid-pace blinking, but I'll keep what you said in mind.

I would consider some custom on/off icons. Also, you might want to try and evenly space all of the menu icons and make sure they look the exact same. there is some white pixels at the top corners of the head image, its not too big a deal but just thought i'd point that out.

You may want to consider a tabbed category thing.

jongos - I probably need them. I'd had some I'd gotten online at one point, but they broke so I took them down. I'll make my own next time. For the menu images I had been trying to make leaves like in the headers, but it didn't turn out quite right. The new topics item didn't exist yet when I made the skin. And thanks for pointing out the pixels.

Over the EDGE - what do you mean by tabbed catagories? Like here?
