Root beer isn't aged vanilla, the main flavor is artificial sassafras.
I do love it though, it's probably my favorite soda. I like to go to the A&W restaurants and get the draft root beer, it tastes so good >.<
Unfortunately there are no A&W restaurants within 50 miles of where I live.
