If she is outright hallucinating little boys then yeah, she needs help If she strongly believes in the religious side of things then that may be the way to go since a priest is usually pretty good at helping relieve people of stress and anxiety. It's like getting a therapist for her without outright telling her she has a problem

Advice?
Always rule out the mundane before looking for the paranormal There's usually a logical explanation for 'strange' occurences.
Sometimes we believe what we want to believe...which is fine...unless it's having a negative effect on us.

I think it's time...The most plausible answer is that she's saying this for attention. If that's the case, she needs professional help. This is not a normal behavior for a healthy individual. This sort of behavior isn't necessarily indicative of a deeper problem, and a trained professional may be able to get her to realize why she feels she needs to get attention this way. If all goes well, she could end up living a perfectly normal life and this desperate need for attention may never manifest again. Alternatively, if the problem is ignored, she could turn to self harm as a new method of getting your attention. We're talking cutting, hitting, auto-aphyxia, and suicide attempts. I'm willing to bet that, sooner or later, these "ghosts" are going to start scratching, cutting, and hitting her in her, most likely she will claim that this is done in her sleep. If you chose to ignore the notion that she's making this up before, this is the point when you need to haul her butt in. The issue is clearly escalating. Or, as Alex has suggested, this could be schizophrenia. It usually manifests in the early to mid-twenties, and since you're 21 I assume it's safe to say she's of a similar age? Barring bleeding walls and ghosts jumping out of mirrors, many people are perfectly normal in their brlief that their home or place of business is haunted. It's probably a case of hyperactive imagination or a lack of surroundings awareness when this occurs, but it's otherwise within the constraints of healthy mental functions. When a person believes they are seeing, hearing, or feeling the presence of spirits everywhere they go, this is worrying. They are perceiving a reality that empiricism dictates doesn't exist. I won't play into the deluded fantasy that your girlfriend has a gift and can see spirits. That's BS and could cause her further harm. If a "ghost hunter" believes they feel spirits everywhere they go, that may be schizophrenia, but is probably just a hyperactive imagination and/or wishful thinking. When a person believes so strongly in what they are (subjectively) seeing that they are constantly frightened and can't sleep, there is a deep-seated problem. Consult a trained mental health professional. Seriously. No one here (including myself) is qualified to help you. Do not call a ghost hunter. Do not call a priest. Call a psychiatrist. *sigh* There is no reason for you to be so harsh and firm. You don't know if there was a spirit or not. I personally suggest that the girl seek medical attention. But if she is fine, she can find a religious individual.

You can not fix this. She has a gift that only others that have it can understand. She needs to find those others and share her experiences with them. Unless you are one of those, you will never get anyone else to take this seriously. She should do some research on this. She could take the Chucky doll out of the home and in the house, tell the spirit to leave. Do not try to make her think she is crazy. Is she seeing orbs or from the corner of her eye think she sees things moving? Take photos all around the house. Look for any blurry areas. In the near dark, take photos. Spirits are all over the earth, but most are harmless. She sees people walking out of the corner of her eye, and I don't think she's crazy. Am I seriously the first and only person to suggest she see a psychiatrist? Depending on what age she is, it's possible she's developing schizophrenia, in which case medication could help immensely. Of course, I can't diagnose something like that, but a professional certainly could. She's 19

I disregard fanciful nonsense unless strong, convincing evidence is presented in its favor. "She says she sees ghosts everywhere" is not such evidence, and there's no point in pretending it is when a mental condition is a more likely cause that would be detrimental to overlook. Considering the situation was initially presented as having paranormal origins, and most people in this thread seem to want to play into that fantasy, I thought someone needed to be "harsh and firm".

She sees people walking out of the corner of her eye, and I don't think she's crazy. I saw my recently deceased cat for a fortnight after he died. Did I really see him? No. It was my imagination, coupled with guilt and wishful thinking. The mind is a powerful thing when one is emotionally upset/off kilter. She's not crazy, but there are some psychologial issues going on in my opinion.

My girlfriend says she's been seeing and hearing dead people as of late. She can't sleep because of it, she's scared to death. She sees a little blonde boy on a railroad crossing where a family was killed by a train, she can't even drive by a cemetery without feeling someone getting in her back seat, riding home with her, and following her inside. She had a Chucky doll her cousin gave her because his kid was coming over, and she says his house is haunted and they see spirits all the time and weird stuff happens there. Since she brought this doll home, it's been showing up in random places in her house. Does anyone have any thought's/ideas on what may be going and how to fix it? Tell her to stop taking acid. Seriously though. I personally think this is a wind up. I want hard evidence, because ghosts, spirits, demons etc dont exsist.

She sees people walking out of the corner of her eye, and I don't think she's crazy. peripheral vision hallucinations are very common side effects of stress and anxiety. Migraines also cause peripheral vision hallucinations. Same with histamine imbalances(like if she has allergies, it is spring afterall) Depends on what she is "seeing" though. If she is seeing full blown hallucinations of people for well over a second or so then I'd say she should probably see a doctor.

Stop kidding yourself and get her some help. I would make a guess and say that 99% of the people on this Earth cannot "see" these ghosts, demons, etc. That just leaves the crazies, which your girlfriend is probably not and the people that are craving some attention. Which your girlfriend probably wants from you, at least I would hope so. Flavus

Excuse me doctors. But please accept the fact that you're not God nor a "know-it-all". It's ignorant to say these things don't exist. It's also ignorant to rule out medical issues. Be opened minded.
1) Visit a Clinic, tell your doctor, and get it checked out.
2) Follow their treatments/diagnosis.
3) See a religious individual.
4) Pray.
