Technological Mishaps

Okay, so lately I've been trying to re-wire my network connection in a new room so that I can have 1 computer that puts all it's files on the other. Of course, you think it will work, but in the end it doesn't.

Have you had any of these stupid mishaps that seem to be able to work, and they may for a short period, and then just go caput?

They drive me up the wall x.x

Then you're lucky! If only I had a splitter, this stupid headache of wiring would be over!

Sometimes. For example, my dad has setup about 10 networks it seems to connect to three computers, yet half the time I can't connect to the main one, vise versa, etc. I had to create a folder on my desktop that allows anyone within network range to access it's files but NOT delete them. That's how I access my stuff via the laptop. Unfortunately it manages to slip past the main computer as well... >_>

for the most part, my network works fine, barring the occasional reboot on my file server i know that kind of thing happens to me all the time, though, i just can't place with what D: it's really frustrating. :/
