Remember, they haven't finished it. That is where the testers come in to play. To test things, and see if it will pull up any errors, and add suggestions for possible features that can easily be implemented into the software by the time they are ready for full release.

I'm sorry you can't appreciate the improvements. Please don't go around trying to dampen the spirits of those who can. If you have any actual criticism, I'm sure the devs will be happy to hear it, but there's no need to shrug off the whole thing.

If you've been around Proboards since the end of v3 and beginning of v4, you'll notice a huge difference from v4 to v5 , faster, easier, better.

The avatar creator is very good and deserves a shout, also the like system deserves a shout the Live/bbc deserves a shout, the shoutbox deserves a shout, basically every new feature deserves a shout, ProBoards have been working on v5 for many many years, and you can easily tell that they have been working on it. If someone doesn't like it they have the right not to, but I think more than 1 feature deserves a shout, especially after all the work they put into it.

I agree... there are many new features proboards has added in. Although I've only been around proboards for little over a year, and have seen nothing but 4.5, I can tell the admins have put a lot of work into v4.5 and even more in v5. It's taken years of preparation, rewriting, and testing to come this far and v5 is still not finished. There is still a lot the admins are planning on adding, and the final result will be great. I'm sure of it.

Oh! And I think the sub-sub boards need a shout, too... Although they aren't on the testing board, I've been told there are sub sub boards... and further... (sub sub sub sub boards, etc.)

I'm not quite sure how people (such as yourself) can think that having features you used to have to create with a code now be built into the forum itself (thus removing the need for the code) to be a problem. User-added codes slow your forum down as you have to load the original forum then have the code modify it. If the forum is loaded with those modifications already present (ie. built in) then it is faster.

I want all of my codes to be made redundant; it's less complication, more speed and is more likely to work

v5's operating code is faster. It's output probably isn't web optimized yet. Especially since PAtrick said they've disabled browser caching for the beta. (It caused some bug fixes to not appear fixed.)
