I personally felt like Sims 3 was a downgrade from Sims 2. It seemed to run a lot smoother, but felt like a lot of the features were gone. Sims 2 just seemed like it had so much more stuff going on.
What does everyone else think?

I don't have Sims3 yet, so I can't say much. However, remember that Sims3 is new so it doesn't have as many EPs and SPs out yet.

I actually prefer sims 2 also. Sims 3 it seems incomplete. There isn't enough to it I guess. So I'd go with Sims 2.

<-- The Sims 1 forever. The Sims 2, Sims die too soon because of aging. The Sims 3 fixed it but feels too complicated and and boring just like real life.

I prefer sims 2. I like the aspect of sims 3 where the other houses still live their lives and age, but I am obsessed with modding and creating my own stuff and with all of the millions of updates and stuff it's too hard to create good custom content for sims 3. However with sims 2 I still have soooo much stuff for it.

Then you suck. Doesn't the player who uses cheats suck more? Anyways, are options too much to ask with games that have a lot of customizability? Well The Sims 3 got the aging right.

I never played 2, but 3 is an improvement on pretty much everything the Sims 1 did.
That being said, no Sims expansion will ever be as awesome as Makin' Magic.

It's not cheating if the codes are obviously meant to be in the game.

I'm in total agreement! I couldn't stop playing it when it came out. So good XD I've heard you can climb up a beanstalk at home and see a Will Wright giant. Too bad I could never find him. I did have one but could never climb it despite how many days I let it grow.

I did actually find myself going back to Sims 2, just because there was so much more to actually do.
