When you add skins threw a CSS file as i am doing, - and you want to get your default skin to load.. plus whatever your new one is... do you want to save save all your header/footer codes in a notepad - so that you dont lose anything or just the gradients?

Adding/deleting/modifying skins shouldn't affect your headers/footers at all.

Oh okay, well you shouldn't need to back anything up regardless. If things aren't working its probably because your skins are out of order. You need to track down the IDs of each skin and adjust your code appropriately.

Well I wouldn't really call it recoding so much as adjusting. You will need to adjust the code you mentioned, the CSS file code, so that the correct CSS file is matched up to the correct skin.

Okay well would i still be able to edit/modify all my codes if need be to go with the second skin.. and still keep the default skin as is?

Yes, thats what im trying to do.. someone told me now that im loading my skins through a css file i no longer need the <script> tags, of the ones i wanna change... My question now is.. if i want a new info center, new music files and so on on the new skin, do i have to take out the script tags? on both the default, and the new skin?? What im wondering too is.. do i have edit, all the new skins to play, open, and view all the new files? ill try and start from the top again.. I think i now know what i have to do.. i hope...lol.. Craig, im sorry about double posting as well.. it wont happen again

Okay we must get a clear understanding first. When creating your CSS stylesheets you won't need to change anything in your forum's headers/footers that involves a <script> tag. Those tags are for javascript codes and not CSS. What we are referring to are <style> tags which are used by the browser to recognize CSS. In your previous thread you said that you could not get the newstitlebg to work with the different grads for different skins code. This is because you still have the newstitlebg CSS code in your headers. In order for it to work the way you want it to work all you have to do is find this code in your headers/footers and take it out. Don't worry about anything with a <script> tag. Just find this code and remove it from your headers/footers area:
<style> .newstitlebg {background-image: url(http://home.ripway.com/2004-9/180837/NewGadients4mysite/purpl037b.gif); background-repeat: repeat; } </style>

For the info box up top, the table should have "classes" for the cells (class="catbg" for example). If you have that in the cells then it should change right along with your different skins. Can you post the info box code you're using here?
For the midi files thing yes it can be done but it would be probably more confusing to you than this has been.

I see the class attributes in that table. Windowbg, catbg, etc. That should change when you load up different skins. What exactly are you referring to not changing in the info box?
