I think in the case of a tie Mario and Link should battle in a round of Super Smash Brothers. Then it entirely depends on the players. I do a better Mario than Link. :/

One of my newest nerd friends who's everything gaming said that Super Mario Bros 3 should win.
I also showed him the past rounds and he's quite disappointed with many of the titles that he thought should have been voted higher.

AIs are rigged. Link wins more often than Mario, in AI play. Clearly because Link is stronger than Mario. Plumber Vs. Swordsmen is kind of a no brainer. Haha.

I didn't think anyone else had ever played Chips Challenge let alone heard of it! (Or Windows 3.1 for that matter XD)
As for those Gameboy games: They now exist on in Game & Watch Galleries 1, 2 & 3 (for the gameboy color)
Including favorites like:
Egg Greenhouse Donkey Kong 2 Turtle Bridge Fire Oil Panic Chef Helmet Parachute and Octopus
(just to name a few)
And as for the Smash Brothers Link vs Mario I have done extensive testing (I was bored during my childhood summer)
I pitted everyone against everyone else in a series of 100 battles (each). (So a total of nearly 4,000 battles) All were the same level no handicap. The results showed that the battle outcome of an all CPU fight is randomly determined.

If you notice, every game in the Final Round is 10+ years old. I'd knew you'd call me on that. Age doesn't matter. A good game then is a good game now. Even if age mattered, don't those old games in the final round tell you something about the new games today? Before you say "so you say that the new Nintendo games are bad", that is not what I mean at all. I meant Nintendo's competition. Age is everything because of the demographic of the majority of users on this forum. It's more about nostalgia with these games. I didn't think anyone else had ever played Chips Challenge let alone heard of it! (Or Windows 3.1 for that matter XD) As for those Gameboy games: They now exist on in Game & Watch Galleries 1, 2 & 3 (for the gameboy color) Including favorites like: Egg Greenhouse Donkey Kong 2 Turtle Bridge Fire Oil Panic Chef Helmet Parachute and Octopus Chips Challenge was alright, but even then, I enjoyed DOOM and Dark Forces (though, this one was a little later). Also, what's Donkey Kong 2? I was only aware of one for the NES, then the three DKC games for SNES.

Well as you guys can see from the poll results, we have our winners!
3rd place
Super Mario World (SNES) (8 votes, 24.2%)
Second place
Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) (9 votes, 27.2%)
First place, GT's favorite video game is...
Legend of Zelda: Ocarnia Of Time (N64) (16 votes, 48.4%)!!!
So Zelda is apparently GT's favorite game!
Do you agree?

Of course (because I voted for Zelda) There is no feeling more nostalgic than hearing Zelda's lullaby as its played in the courtyard of Hyrule Castle. Or the song of time so grandly sung out by deep heavenly voices within the Temple of Time. Or the song of storms and it's catchy rhythm as you enter the ? (windmill). But of course the best is hearing Saria's Song echoing through the Lost Woods. (Okay I must go play my N64 now...be back later)

I never really played Zelda, nor grew up with it. I grew up with Mario. So I actually don't have the feelings and that experience of being young while playing on the 64 and stuff.

Ocarina of Time was far too easy for me. I had no trouble in the Water Temple, like most people complain about, and some of the songs (namely, Zelda's Lullaby, and Saria's song, since those were played a lot) annoyed me.
While Super Mario World was also easy, it was an enjoyable easy. People could actually be amazed with some of the stunts I do (sometimes laugh, too).

I grew up with Both actually. I love playing Mario on the NES. I loved Super Mario 2 & 3 also. Then came the N64 and Mario64! Zelda not so much. But somehow Zelda Ocarina of Time really made the series take off for me and I got totally hooked on it.
