I'm a newb to graphic programs such as photoshop, so bare with me. I had a question-I just downloaded photoshop elements 10 yesterday in order to make signatures, banners, avatars, etc. Unfortunately, I don't think I picked the right program. I just wanted to know, is this program good for making banners and such? Or did I choose the wrong program? Thanks in advance!
(If I put this in the wrong board, sorry!)

I've never had Elements 10, but I had Elements 4 and Elements 7 for awhile, and yes, you can make REALLY awesome banners and stuff, you just need to get to know the program a bit more. If you're brand new, then don't worry, your first graphic isn't going to turn out a masterpiece. Practice with it, check out some tutorials, or find some people to talk to. You can always PM me if you have questions, I love my Photoshop

I would honestly dump Photoshop Elements, and try this free program: www.gimp.orgI personally believe it's got a broader audience, support, and tools to make graphics. And it's free, so that's a plus. There's also these neat tools: pixlr.com/editor/www.sumopaint.com/app/

As for hosting, I would highly recommend Imgur, because unlike Tinypic, it doesn't kill the quality, and unlike Photobucket, it doesn't take up bandwidth. Plus, Imgur is able to host any image file (like .jpg, .png, etc.). So yeah. It's pretty cool.

Another good program for banners/avatars is www.splashup.com. It's a bit simple, but has all the critical tools and does not even require a download, meaning you can use it no matter what computer you are on.
