I would like there to be a feature where you can upload your avatar directly from your computer, instead of doing the whole ![]() [/img] thing. |

Hi, This is already a feature that you can test now. Login to your account in v5, then click "Profile" in the top menu. On the profile page, click the "Edit Profile" button found to the right of your display name on the page. Next, you should be brought to the "Avatar" page automatically, once here click the radio button next to the "Use only the Uploaded/Linked" option, then click the link provided for "Uploaded/Linked". A pop-up will display allowing you to either upload an avatar image to use, or directly link to an already hosted image  |

Howdy, I must be living up to my screen name since I can't figure out how to use a customized avatar, other than adding a URL. I have an avatar saved as a PDF, but when I go to Modify Profile, it only allows me to upload a URL. The folks with whom I chat at the forum have the same problem. Could the forum we are using not be a V5?

In addition to what Ricky has posted, note that (at least currently), avatar images can't be imbedded in PDF documents. They must be saved as images with one of these extensions: .gif .jpeg .jpg .png
