existing forum importation

Maybe I'm asking my questions wrong, but I am trying to find out if I can import my existing forum, including previous posts, and member list, from another web site?
I would also like to have that member list preserved, so that members do not have to register for yet another forum...........is that possible?

Is this specific to v5? Meaning you have a Proboards forum now and want to move it to v5?

If so, that will happen automatically when v5 is released. See the FAQ thread for more information.

If you have a forum that is hosted somewhere else, and you want to bring it to Proboards, that is not possible, I don't believe.

yes, existing board elsewhere, that I wanted to move over to a Proboard....and, yes, I believe you are correct.......that such a migration just cannot be done........

We would like to offer an import option from other types of systems, however this will not initially be available at launch.

So, as far as I can tell, as of now there is no way to import the users and postings from my SMF forum to this forum structure. If I want all the members and postings I will (at least for now) have to copy them manually?
