Attachment Feature - Decide File Formats

The attachments feature of ProBoards is a fantastic addition to the forum software. You can upload any file you want as long as it is no more than 1MB. There are drawbacks to this because there is no way to restrict what formats are acceptable. I was thinking of giving the admin control of what formats are acceptable. Basically there is a textbox that has a list of formats. The table is the textbox:

zip 7z jpg png

and *.zip, *.7z, *.jpg, and *.png are the only acceptable formats to upload. Anything else will be rejected. If nothing is entered, all formats are acceptable. Not only would this be a good feature for V5, it would be just as good for V4.

Forum admins decide additional formats. That's what I am getting at.

What about further restricting it? i.e. making the allowed set smaller

What formats are automatically rejected? I'm assuming *.exe is for sure one but what about the others?

If it exists, i see nowhere on the attachments for what formats are allowed. I clicked: attachments > add files > selected an image > insert. Nothing shows for me . Opera.

Apologies, the old dialoge had the types listed, however the upload feature has since been changed. A ProBoards staff member will be able to let you know what the current attachment types allowed are.
