Ranks

Hi!

I'm editing my forum right now and I noticed how the rank-system is missing something.
My forum is for a group of gamers, and I don't want anyone who just made an account to be able to check any kinds of threads.
My english isn't so strong at times so let me try to explain it like this way:

A new member that has not yet been accepted into our forums should only be able to watch threads in a so called "recruitment" forum/threads. And I will only grant them access to the other boards/forums if he/she gets accepted to our group.

I don't think this feature excists yet (unless I've been clumsy and missed it somehow) and would love to see it happen since it would complete the gaming-forums. Not just for me, but for everyone!

EDIT: Just to make this clear, the ranks would go something like this (not talking about star-ranks):

Guest (this is the type of account that is restricted to recruitment board/threads
Recruit (this is the type of account that got accepted)
Member (this is one has left recruitment-stage)
Moderator
Admin

Okay, I think either way you mean you'll be okay.

So there are both Groups and Ranks in v5 (like v4).

Ranks are based on post count and automatically change as a members post count increases.

Groups are not automatic and members have to join or be added depending on the type.

Both groups and ranks can be assigned as permissions for access to boards. So you can set different boards with different permissions however you want. New members wont have access until they meet the requirements that you put in place. With ranks this will automatically happen as they increase their post count. With groups it will require they be added to the group by you or a group leader (or if its an open group, that they join).
