Skin Critics please?

So, new skin on my forum, a light one, totally opposite then what was there before. Found it fitting with spring here! It's unlike wht I've seen before in some ways, so I'm hoping to get some more reviews/critics/things to possibly change to make it even better. Please and thank you<3

Well, let's see. Hmm.

I like the skin, the banner looks nice (even though the text is a tad difficult to read). I like how the images are faded along the side table- it has a nice effect to it. The overall design is pretty good.

Here's a few things you could work on:

- The word calculation table needs a smaller default size. It's expandable, but its default size stretches the forum over its background table.

- I notice that a lot of my attention is pulled to the background, there's just so much going on (lots of grass). Not a bad thing, maybe you could fade it a bit, like you did with the side table images.

- In the thread posting, it's a bit difficult to read profile text.

That's all I could really think of. Nothing else pops out to me much in a negative aspect. I wish you luck with your future skinning endeavors.

Thanks for the suggestions (: Is it too much to ask what browser you use and maybe a screenshot of the word calculation box? To me, it looks perfectly sized, even 5-10px too small.

It's my assumption that it's best viewed in Chrome, because it looks just fine to me as well. However, do you think it would be possible to change it to a definite width and height? Or rather a more cross-browser way? Like width="80%" height="150px" rather than the rows and the columns? Try that and see if it works out better for everyone.

I tried, but unless I'm doing something wrong it doesn't work, at least not for Chrome.

I'll pm you a fix for all three browsers. You have some improper html going on there.

I think it is a pretty skin. I do agree with the others that mentioned the text is hard to read on the menu. In fact, I can't read some of it.

The menu buttons are very difficult as well and very close together. You do want people to find things easily.

Not a fan of the bouncing links but it seems to be a trend for some reason.

I also agree with Void regarding the background and his suggestion. It is just too much for the faded look of the forum and side tables. Also I'd optimize it as it is huge (1,045,086 bytes).

But everything else is a neat as a pin. I can see you took a lot of time making everything lined up neatly. You definately have attention to detail. Very nice job.

I think I'll take the menu out of the banner and display it in a menu bar then, making new images that works all the time seems to be more trouble then it's worth I think.

I will fade up the image a bit (:

I got a suggestion about the bouncing links on another site too, I will take them out once I edit the code a bit

Personally I love this skin, I love the background, and I especially love how the boarder background is transparent and how the boards highlight certain aspects of the background as well. I think the header/banner is a tad too big, yes it does catch my attention though, it's also a tad too too cloudy (the banner) ease up on the white effect soft cloud look going on. Over all, not too bad.
