Top Of Post Intro/Whatever

this sounds very far fetched but i find it very useful. i use it for multiple uses and it could be used for many reasons for forum owners and members

the first one i call headlines, you can place a limited size image on the left before the text. admins or members could use it for a decorative intro to the thread followed by an hr line below to seperate it from the post



theres a drop down in the post, modify, or reply to message page to choose which type of thing you want to use



other things i use it for is a Listening To feature, or what someones watching on TV or a movie. different fields come up for the song, artist and album so it would read

Daughter By Pearl Jam From Vs with the album artwork the user posts themselves
or What to Expect When You're Expecting on DVD with the movie poster



or you could use it for a mood icon followed by text if the user wanted to vent or be cheerful. alot of people use mood icons but its usually just in the mini profile that noone sees and you cant just post your mood specifically one nite to the next

RPG forums it would be great for whatever they wanted to use it for. for setting up battles it would be great.

any feature you used it for would have an hr line underneath to seperate the important from the post, i use an image

admins could use it for anything they wanted specific to their forum now with the way v5 is gonna be and how you can change anything in the admin panel

it also would make proboards very attractive as guaranteed no other forum software is going to have it

I really like this feature. We'll have a meeting to discuss it.

Probable outcome will be v5.x, but in the meantime a plugin or template modification could easily achieve this.

yea but it is nice to have the prefomatted text input areas or forms to just put your info in. especially if its used everyday and by many users or even just admins. some can be complex and it is even just a feature for your members to use that they wouldnt even be doing without it being there. which becomes an everyday extra fun thing for everyone on your forum

I agree. Which is why a plugin that adds a button to the post page would be perfect. You could even set permissions.
