language packs

To reach more users and create even more forums, a language pack is wished for.
This could be a front-end feature thus not impacting speed or im pact down the line.
I offer proboards to clubs and social organisation regular but the biggest issue is allways the english language.

Could you please give me an idea if this can be expected and when?
Could you also give me a workaround with scripts or so?

ProBoards has already said that they will probably look into this in the future (ProBoard V5.x).

In the mean time, you can use Google translate to translate the page content.

It isn't a planned feature yet, however ProBoards is aware that people want this. V5.x means some time after the V5 release.

Hi,

Most (not all) of the text can be customized through the template system. So someone can create a theme for other languages. We will work over time to add language packs to fully support other languages. You will have good support, but not perfect, by editing theme templates.

Hi thanks, I have a problem can you help? I am Turkish and I want to prevent ı and ç ş letters turning into box symbols etc. especially when posting and modifying they exceed word limits.

I downloaded from the Proboards site last week I think ıt was V4 I don't know. How can I use UTFC-8 characters? Should I wait for V5? How can I get V5?

Hi again,

Still using v4 version, because I finally got some duth users explained how things operate. I'll present them to v5 as late as possible.
But if this language problem can be dealt with with the above mentioned themes, it may be earlier.
Anyway Google's site translater is no good; really bad translations.

If Proboards is in the future in need of translations to Dutch, they can always get support from me, as they helped me further also.
