Hello. We have been having issues and would like to prevent non-club members from posting in our forum. Is there a way to password protect the front-end of the forum to allow only club members access with a provided password and then they can login with their own account? Thanks in advance.

Hi, (1): You can prevent guests (non members) from posting. This can be done by going into the admin panel and click the "modify board" link. Go through each board on the forum, and under the "Posting Restrictions" category, be sure that everything there is set to "Registered members" or above, depending on how you'd like. Once you made your selections, scroll to the bottom and click on: Modify board to complete the action. Do that after you set each board. With those settings in place, guests won't be able to reply to threads or make new threads, but they'll still be able to view them. However, If you prefer guests not to be able to view your forum, you can set that preference in General Settings.: Admin Panel > General Settings > Guests Must Log In > Yes. Then, scroll to the bottom and click on: Save settings to complete the action. (2): If you wish to make it so that only certain members can view certain sections, please follow the steps for hidden categories on this FAQ page. If you need further help, please post back with your forum's url.

i think they are having the same problem as we do. We are a club that charge a fee to access our content (most of which is now on Proboards) The problem we have is that non members can register and use the forum WITHOUT being a member What we want is a password protected entry field and the piont of signup. This must be easy to do but would have to be in the registration form area. We create a password say ABCDE12345 and you have to complete the reg process Is V5 able to do this? ?
