Hey all. Long time since I made a suggestion. Bet you thought I'd finally gone Unlucky for you, I have not haha. Anyway. There's codes at the moment that allow a new field just below topic titles, for additional info (description, for example). I was wondering if you guys could add this as an option by default and then when we search a board (or the forum) it will also search the "description field" as well as the "subject". It could be a simple option in the search: "Also search description fields where possible", or whatever. Please? Either way, thanks for reading.

We discussed this as a possible feature and are sorry to say we will not be adding it. You can preview a thread by hovering over it already. What you are requesting should be easy to achieve with plugins (a lot like the current code).

So the plugin system could have this coded and be included in the search?
Subject: Batman Description: Christian Bale
So then I use the search function and it could find "christian bale" (and that topic) if I search for it?

How do you control the descriptions for threads? Are they not simply previews of thread content? The search would include thread content. If you are manually adding descriptions to every thread (a daunting task), then no the search will not index it or search it.

I mean how in the image below. See how there are two lines. The top line is the subject, the below is some additional info.

That functionality is a lot more like thread labels in v5 (which you could modify the template to format them like that). Using the code in the screenshot how do you add descriptions?

The code is from here:
* Thread Descriptions * Written by Devin Froseth
So anyone who makes a topic in that board can add an extra description, and then all members can see it.
