Kind of how the news fader works, but this would scroll horizontally from right to left (or left to right if you prefer). It would show the newest posts that have just been made on the forum. Maybe giving the option of up to say 10 or so of the newest posts in the ticker.
I imagine it looking something like this:
What's the weather like? It's been really hot here lately, can't se... Pets I've got 3 dogs and 5 cats, but they don't all g... Favorite Sports Did you guys see that game last night, it was ama...
The bold is the subject title of that thread, and the text is say the first 30-50 characters in the last post made for that particular thread. The text (not the subject) would be a clickable link to take you to that latest post.
The ticker would have several different speeds (like the newsfader). You'd have the option of adjusting background color, font color, font size, etc.
It would be ideal at the top of the main page and every other page, but I guess could be anywhere? I always thought this would be a cool feature. But maybe that's just me.
