v5 has been said to be very customizable. ;D However, I'd be really happy if a few things can be confirmed by the admins. Thanks in advance! Firstly, how much can the profile be changed? Can we combine tabs? For example, can we combine the content of "Following" and "Friends" into one tab? Basically, how much of the profile can be modified? Next, I notice that when you are browsing a board, a bar follows you. (The one that has page numbers "[Select]", "[Actions]", and search bar?) You know, it follows you on the top as you scroll down. Can we stop it from following you? Can we remove the "Legend", and "Board Information & Statistics" that comes when you browse boards? And can we put it into spoilers, or change the placement? When you are a guest, there is a "reply" button on the center of the last post on the bottom. Can we remove it ? Can we remove "Quote" for guests, while we're at it? Can we remove the "News Bar" on the homepage, and use our own HTML/CSS/JS news bar?

Can't answer the first one, but all of the others, yes, you can change these.

Ah. You were able to do this in the admin panel? Or is it a separate page?

You will probably be able to combine tabs too if you have someone that has a lot of free time and coding experience.

If I am understanding your question correctly, these would be solved by customizing the templating system. Like Ajay's post, will require modifying the coding of the template.

Red B, isn't sure about the first question. And you leave a lot of probability to it. I'd be really happy if an admin can give confirmed results. (Since he/she has probably actually used the v5 admin panel.) ;D

I know how the templating system works, I just don't know the specifics of how the user profile page is constructed in the templating language. #1 will require a staff member's response to confirm, as none of us have seen the templating code for that part of the forum.

Yeah. That's why I was asking for an admin response. Thanks for the understanding.

Some things like turning off the news bar are settings. You can just turn it off. Pretty much everything else you've mentioned can be achieved by modifying the template. Why you would want to combine the following and friends tabs is beyond me, anyone who is a friend is also in your following, but not everyone who is in following is a friend. You sort of need those separate, but that's just my opinion. I believe all the variables are available to you so you can try to get as crazy as you want through template modification.

Why you would want to combine the following and friends tabs is beyond me Some forums don't need all those tabs. If your forum is a support forum for a product or service, being social may not matter. anyone who is a friend is also in your following, but not everyone who is in following is a friend. You sort of need those separate, but that's just my opinion. Sure. But maybe you would like to see your friends and followers on one single page? You can put your friends list on top, and followers list on the bottom. Some things like turning off the news bar are settings. You can just turn it off. My ideas are crazy now? I use the word crazy in place of creative. Like when someone says "Go nuts!" they don't mean become psychotic, they mean go have fun. So when I say "get as crazy as you want" I mean go make awesome modifications and creative changes, blow me away with your customizations. I might not combine those tabs on my forum, but there's no reason you can't do it on yours. Heck you could even remove them entirely if you wanted; if it really is a desire for not being social on a support forum for a product or service. ;D
