As a windows xp user using IE8 Due to IE8 soon to be an outdated browser And may have some compatibility problems running the v5 software I thought I would update my browser - I guess it up to preference as to which browser one prefers Chrome - firefox - IE9 - Safari - Opera I'm currently giving opera a go - and very impressed how all seems to be working OK on the beta v5 forum - Using opera - thank you all for the hard work. Thanks Steve

V5 will support IE8 and greater just fine. In most cases IE7 will even be okay. However for the best v5 experience I personally recommend Chrome or Firefox. There is a noticeable difference in the quality of your forum experience when using one of those two browsers with the v5 software. Opera is alright, but with such a small user base it is not a priority during our beta test. So you may encounter bugs that others do not. The good news is this helps us find bugs. Opera is a browser we try to support as much as we can. V5 ExperienceBEST QUALITY | Chrome, Firefox | GOOD QUALITY | IE9+ | SUPPORTED | IE8, Opera | SUPPORTED? | IE7 |

I'd recommend IE10 (7 only unfortunately), Chrome or Firefox for the best support of HTML5 and CSS3 goodness although the latter two are the better choices. I'm also aware of a bug in the latest version of Chrome for XP whereby you can't seem to download certain files. This issue doesn't seem to affect Vista or 7 users.
