I think it would be cool if the navigation bar would show maybe like the top 5 or 10 threads in a board. Just so you can easily see if there are other topics that are new in that board from anywhere.

I'm not quite sure I completely understand your request. But I'm pretty sure this can be accomplished with a plugin in v5.
If you want break down the details more I can confirm what can and can't be accomplished using codes & plugins. I'd like to understand this feature more in case it's something we want to make a plugin for. What are you calling the navigation bar and how do you envision the 5 to 10 threads being displayed?

What I'm calling the nav bar is the thing that has Forum Name:: Category Name:: Board Name::Sub-Board Name... etc.
And how it has the arrows and you go pretty much see if any boards have new content in them because of the new image out to the side.
And what I'm asking is for after the board/sub-board name it has like a list of the top 5 threads that will have the new image if its new. I hope I explained this better.

Ahh.... We call that the Navigation Tree. Your request makes a lot more sense now. Whether or not the thread information is available on the page where you are using the NavTree will determine if it's possible to display them or not. I have a feeling that on most pages this won't be the case. We don't load all the threads for all the boards on every page load (that would make things super slow). So their information isn't likely to be available for the code or plugin to access and display. It's something we could definitely experiment with though.

Well, I figured that the info wouldn't be available on all pages. I figured it could be implemented as a feature. lol. But if it makes it load slower. Then it's all good. Twas just an idea. lol. But yeah. Definately experiment.
