Does the release of v5 mean that practically most of the codes in the database will be useless and that coders will basically not be necessary anymore?

Most of the codes will be useless. But coders will not be. There are still things you can not do with the normal setup. Coders will be the ones writing the plugins. Coders will be those that can write other codes that cant be done with just template modification.

I think coders will be more important than ever. There's so many more things for them to do. We've designed so many things with them in mind and we have so many plans for them. As for codes, they give us a great base for what to make into plugins, or just what to update. So many features came from existing codes. They've definitely been a help as well.
