Ok well, when someone gets banned, and they try logging in, there would be somethign that says
You have been banned for this reason:
You may ask to appeal your ban here:
and them email would be, forumname@proboards.com
when sent, it would go to the owner of the forum, or chosen staff, and they would take it form there. Just in case of a moderation mistake.

For security reasons the point of a ban is to cut all communication and access to the forum. It is a serious thing. You do this to spammers and trouble makers. Allowing them to further communicate only gives them a way to continue to harass you. We will no be adding an appeal feature at this time.
If you are concerned about accidentally banning people then there are a few solutions.
Here is just one off the top of my head. Somewhere on your forum, create a notice telling members that if they are ever banned they can submit an appeal at (email address of your choice). Now they can tell you if they got accidentally banned (something which shouldn't ever happen).
Instead of banning someone you could just disable their forum account (make this a rule for your staff to follow). If they are a member who was falsely disabled then they can still access your forum as a guest, or with another forum account and remedy the situation. If they are someone malicious then they will attempt to harass you further and you can ban them entirely, cutting all communication. Essentially this is what you are asking for, as I would assume your appeal system would have some way to permanently cut communication if they are a threat.
We created 3 levels of defense, the warning system, the account disabled system and the banning system. Use them in order with each other and you don't need an appeal system for banning. Banning is the final permanent solution to removing someone from your forum. If they reach that point they don't need an appeal.

Now they can tell you if they got accidentally banned (something I do this on my board, via the news fader. It's not for bans, specifically, but for any problems where they need to contact me but can't get on the board for whatever reason. I think it's a good idea to provide an alternate means of communication. Oh, and for the record, I have accidentally banned people. It's happened (more than once) when I banned an IP used at some point by a troll, only to find it was an IP being *currently* used by an existing member. Once, that person was one of my admins, lol. So, maybe it shouldn't happen, but it can.

I don't see the point of an appeals process before the banning, this should be done in the warning stage.

If they are banned, then they are banned. End of discussion IMO.
