Does the admin have to do anything for the conversion? Reason I ask is our board has an "official" admin that has been non-active for many years. We have other "working" admin that make changes on occasion but our "official" admin isn't around. Will our board continue to be okay after the conversion if the "official" admin doesn't respond or do anything? Thanks in advance for your help! Trish When v5 converts your forum all staff powers will be maintained. Just like the normal admin may have to make a few adjustments to things after conversion, you secondary active admin can make those changes instead (if any). The conversion is automatic after the 3 month optional period. Your admins will need to do nothing at all. Unless of course they want to convert earlier or experiment in BetaZone. I'll take Ryan's earlier post to mean that he's taking questions. ;D One thing I've wondered: If we screw up our v5 BetaZone test board, will we be able to scrap it and start over with a fresh copy? I'm wondering in case, say, I delete all the members (to make sure the member-deletion functions are bug-free) but then later decide I want to test out, say, the member search functions. (I imagine a few people will want to test out the Delete the Entire Message Board button, too ;D) You will have a limited number of conversions. If you choose to convert the same forum multiple times or many forums one time. It's up to you. We aren't announcing the amount of conversions and specific details about converting until BetaZone.

What a peculiar issue I have here; no 'Like' button. <_<

Well I tried that, as I now use Google Chrome instead of Firefox; have been using Firefox for years but Chrome offers so much more. I still am having the same issue. What is baffling me is that I can see the 'Like' button before I log in, once I do long in however, I can no longer see it.

What happens if you click it while logged out? Are you sure you maybe don't already like us? Check your likes, if we're already in there try unliking and then re-liking us. Or try going to our main facebook page www.facebook.com/ProBoardsFreeForums and like us there. Then go to the invite page and you should have the signup page (orange) show up instead.

No, you're not already liked. The only thing I was able to do was 'Like' the October 2 announcement made on the main page for Proboards on Facebook. Hopefully that will work, not sure where the 'Invite Page' is though.
Edit- Perhaps the issue is that I have a 'Page' such as companies do and not an actual regular Facebook as myself. Just created a normal Facebook and shall go threw that process of liking Proboards. Thanks for the assistance though.
Edit 2- Once I created a 'normal' Facebook account, everything worked fine. You may want to look into why company pages were not allowed to 'Like' things if any future issues pop up. Thanks for trying to help out though everyone. I appreciate it.

Patrick has said that once beta zone starts, they will offer a "non-facebook" way to request a copy of your forum to play on, if that helps. Oh thanks for the info. cause I dont have a facebook to try this out.

Our team is working hard on bug-crushing right now. Only a couple of minor features are being coded in; all other efforts are on fixing any bugs left in the system. If I had to guess I would say BetaZone starts next week. But that is not a promise; it could be pushed back if we still have important bugs to fix.

Here's hoping the bugs cooperate!
Thanks for the guesstimate, Pat. It gives us a much clearer picture of where we are in the release process.
I know the ProBoards team. You'll work hard to get v5 ready to go with as few outstanding issues as possible. Thanks for the extra effort. We all appreciate it.
And now I'll sit back and quietly, semi-patiently, wait for The Day!

I do not like or trust facebook with ANY information. I WILL NOT 'like' or trust the privacy of my membership to a facebook morphed version of proboards. I've followed this 'upgrade?' for some years now and with each hoop I am expected to jump through the process becomes more convoluted. I've moved my primary social board to invisionfree. I may check back in a year or two to see how the move is progressing. I may not.
