I was wondering if an idea that could be implemented, that allows an Administrator to "bookmark a board for certain groups", so that if a post is made it will notify the members in that group via PM? We have a staff board on my forum, and it would certainly help if they are notified when posts are made so that discussions and issues can be settled as quickly as possible. Sometimes, for example, people forget to check a board on a regular basis and they might miss an important event, and it's easier if they get a notification that a thread has been posted or an announcement has been made as opposed to the thread starter sending out a PM to everyone in said group notifying them.
It would be just like bookmarking a thread, only it's done automatically for an entire member-group by checking a box next to the group name and it would be for an entire board.
EDIT: It could also be made so that people can chose to unbookmark a board, if they so wish, and you can also bookmark a board on your own.

Well if you wanted you could just have the staff pm all staff. And then you can view the pm's like a thread.

True, but that would require looking up all the names of a people in a member group and putting them into the recipient list. With this feature, all you would have to do was post a thread and it would automatically notify everyone. It could even be done on a thread-basis, instead of an entire board. Say you had different announcements for each group, for example, and you can chose which group you want the notification sent to. While the PM's are threaded now, this process would be a bit easier.

Members choose their own notification settings. I understand your request for groups being notified, but we don't allow the admin to change a users settings. Part of not auto-sending notifications through emails has to do with the CAN-SPAM Act. We don't let admins spam members. Members need to opt in to email notifications.
