I have a Mitsubishi FX0S- 14 PLC that is part of an automation system for a 35mm projector.
I have most of the system mapped out, and I'm fairly sure I can recreate the program (the cord to connect it to a computer has been lost, along with the original program). I don't think that most of it really pertains to my question anyway.
This unit has the following for places to make connections.
L | N | G | X0 | X1 | X2 | X3 | X4 | X5 | X6 | X7 | S/S | 0V | 24V | COM0 | COM1 | COM2 | Y0 | Y1 | Y2 | Y3 | Y4 | Y5
L is in the hot line coming in to power the unit (110VAC) N is the neutral like coming in to power the unit G is the ground X[0-7] are the 8 inputs S/S is tied to 0V to make the inputs sink 24V is going out to the various buttons and such to trigger the inputs COM[0-2] are all wired together, as well as wired to L Y[0-5] are the 6 outputs
My question deals with the bold. Is there any reason any of you can think of as to why COM[0-2] would be tied to L and getting 110VAC?
The outputs are just powering relays, and then going back to N for the complete circuit.
I notice the outputs are wired for sink wiring, while the inputs are wired for source. But if I must be honest, I'm not exactly sure what the means for the outputs.
If anyone can shed some light, I'd appreciate it. I'm fairly sure I'm just overlooking something fundamental, I just can't quite see it.

Are you majoring in Electrical Engineering? I'm a Computer Science major so I don't really have any idea as to what you are talking about, but my roommate is an EE major.
