I'm a bit confused on one thing.
My forum like any other had codes that do specific things like mini profile, color bar ext. But I also have some custom codes I use to bring up pop up forms when you begin a thread. Such as a pop up application that is very useful and popular. Will V5 wipe out all the codes Ive been using for years as well as the pop up codes?
Ive never dealt with plug ins before so I'm not sure how to really incorporate them.

Some of these codes are already features. And some are far easier to achieve. Like the miniprofile can be done by modifying the HTML template. Also, you will still be able to use headers/footers for those codes such as pop-up and such(some may need to be updated to suit v5 though). I hope that helps a little.

You will still have all of your Header and Footer codes after your forum converts to v5. New blank headers and footers will be applied to your forum. But all your old ones will be accessible 1 click from them. Some codes will still work. Some wont. Some will now be features so you wont need them. Others will need to be tweaked. If you sign up for BetaZone you can experiment with a temporary copy of your forum upgraded to v5. This will let you prepare and make any changes you need to. Plugins are the next evolution of codes. Currently you place a bunch of codes in your headers. They are a big jumble of text code. With plugins all your codes can be managed separately. You can toggle them on and off at will. Reorder them just by dragging and dropping them. And change settings using friendly interfaces, instead of editing the actual code. Starting in BetaZone we will be developing plugins. There will be a board here in the beta area where you will be able to request plugins. So if there's a code you're using now that you want made into a plugin you can request it. Or you can just use it as a code still. Your choice. If you have more questions just ask them here and I'll help you understand.

I sighed up for Beta but i cant seem to access it? Is it offline? The V5 beta is offline for maintenance. BetaZone is a program that hasn't started yet.
