Not sure if this has been suggested before but I am going to suggest it now. What I am saying is that when a member gets banned they should be sent to a certain usergroup.
Scenario: Let's say a member is breaking the rules and you want to ban him. So you ban him and it sends him to an assigned member group. (Probably called "Banned"). Then, all the members on the forum will realize that the member is banned.
Excuse the English. I wasn't really sure how I should explain this to everyone. Thanks.

As for indicating to other members that a member is banned, I believe that like V4, you can set this as publicly visible, however, I do like this idea for other reasons!

I would be ok with this from an admin perspective, even though that information is easily accessible in other ways.
However, I don't think it's anyone else's business who's been banned. If someone has been a troublemaker and suddenly disappears, I'm pretty sure most could figure it out on their own without me drawing attention to it. That's just me, though.

Assuming you place the member into this member group at the time of banning, what you request is already available in v5. You can use groups to accomplish many things.

I think he's asking for an automatic thing. Yeah, I am asking for it to switch their member group automatically.

seems like a waste of resources vs just adding them to a group you can create yourself by a couple of clicks

It literally is just a couple click to add someone to your banned group that you create. I'll add this to our ideas list for v5.x, but for now it won't be included at launch.
