Is there any way to allow my moderators to view reported posts without making them global mods?

You can make a group that can access the Reported posts section of the admin area. Place members you want in that group. We recommend that you give them the powers necessary to moderate as well though. But it's up to you. The group doesn't need to have global powers.

Maybe I'm just missing it. I can't find a way to bring up the option to give them those privileges unless I select 'yes' to make them global first. If I say no, then the only options I see are the basic mod functions (edit, delete, etc).
I currently have it set up so that my moderators can do those basic functions as well as deal with posts that are reported on their boards, but they aren't global so their powers only work on their own boards.

This is the v5 Beta Board. I was referring to v5, not v4. Once v5 launches you will be able to do as I said. If you need help you can head over to the support board. However to my knowledge in v4 you can't do this without making them global mods like you say.

Oh sorry, I am talking about v5. I'm trying to do it in betazone now That is how I currently have it set up in v4 so I know it used to be possible.

Oh.... sorry. I totally misunderstood what you were asking this whole time.
Global vs not Global in v5. They have different powers. Yes you need to have a group set to Global in order to access the powers necessary to deal with Reported Posts. Sorry that I missed what you were saying before. Global doesn't automatically make you a global moderator, you still set their powers. They do need to be able to be global in order to deal with reported posts, since those post can come from all over the forum. I hope that makes more sense.
Sorry again for the confusion.

It's okay, I'm sure I wasn't being clear.
So there is no way to allow moderators to see/deal with reported posts from their own board anymore? That's definitely a feature I will miss.

Hi Ellie,
I even just checked with Pat to make sure I wasn't getting mixed up any further. Basically like I said before. If you want a member to be able to deal with Reported Posts then they need to be Global so they can deal with all posts from everywhere. V4 and v5 do not filter reports based on boards.
You said "So there is no way to allow moderators to see/deal with reported posts from their own board anymore? That's definitely a feature I will miss." But that's not the case right now. As I said the Reported post feature is for the entire forum in both v4 and v5.
Get creative with member groups. in v5 you can place members in multiple groups. That means you can get really skilled with mixing and matching powers and abilities.

Thanks, I'm going to play with it more. I tried looking at my settings in v4 to see how I have it set up & I'm not sure what I did, but somehow my moderators (with limited powers) are able to see reported posts on their own board, and from there they can do basic moderation (delete the thread, archive the report, etc) but they can't ban members or see reports from other boards. However, on v5 they don't see reported posts at all unless I make them global mods. I will play around with it more tonight.
