Any chance of this being possible. I just missed a member posting in the shoutbox asking for help with login while I was working on some posts. Had there been a sound when he posted, I wouldn't have missed the chance to help him.

I too would like this. There are times when I am writing in a story, or a thought involved thread but have found I missed chatting with someone. And the ability like said by others to turn on/off the sound.
