We have noticed that there are a lot of plugins being created for very simple modifications to a person forum. Plugins can get bulky if you have lots and lots of them loading on every page load. Instead, try a template mod.
This forum is for people to request a Template modification. And for our helpful coders to give step by step instructions for modifying templates.
Try to be as clear as possible in explaining where to go, what code to find, and how to modify it. Provide replacements codes with instructions, or just be helpful.

It was suggested by a Moderator / Admin that I bring this question here:
In some forums you can make the 'tree' of the forum expand to a certain depth. For example.
If you have a category and a board and a couple of sub-boards, on the main page, you see the categories, and in a category Board you see a list of the sub-boards. Or, you can expand it so you don't just see a list of the sub-boards but the sub-boards actually expand on the main page so you can see all of the sub-boards, a little indented under the category instead of just listed under one cateogory? (expanded or compressed)? Might be the better terms.
