Scan post for certain words before posting?

How would won scan a post and replace certain words before the post actually got posted?

Please explain more, what are you trying to achieve

For example, the censored words list replaces words that should not be posted (swear words etc)

I'm trying to prevent certain users from using certain UBBC code. in v5

I am guessing that maybe you'd have to switch to the ubbc version of the textarea and then scan for the certain ubbc?
