How do I change my window 1 and 2 to different colors instead of both being the same color?
Thanks Chrissy

In your admin area, select Themes, and then select Easy Theme Creator. Click on the link that says Customize Scheme, and change the colors for Background 1 and Background 2.

I have done that but it will not work. I have Background 1 as window 1 and background 2 as window 2 but both are the same color. I have my mouse over as transparent because I do not like to have the mouse over as an alternate color.

I have my mouse over as transparent because I do not like to have the mouse over as an alternate color. My bad thought you wanted a highlight color. Just make the highlight color 353559 if that is the color you want all the time. Let me know if this works for you

Background 1 is the main background colour used pretty much everywhere. As far as I can tell, background 2 is mostly only used for every other post in threads as well as for tabs like those in view profile. If you aren't viewing posts in a thread, the difference won't show. When using the Visual Editor/Easy Theme Creator, switch the preview to show the Profile page to see the differences.
*There may be other places I'm not aware of, but the Less CSS variable in the style sheet for Background 2 only appeared in these two places.

Thanks Shrike for that info. I guess In v5 we cant alternate colors on the forum main page it makes no sense. They converted properly but does not show proberly. Also a side note my HIGHLIGHT color matches my window 2 color YET still the main page is all one for the window bgs so HELP please.

I believe Bg 1 also sows in the News Fader and the Nav. Bar, maybe

Also a side note my HIGHLIGHT color matches my window 2 color YET still the main page is all one for the window bgs so HELP please. Not by default, but when it comes to appearance and layout, there's almost no such thing as "can't" with V5, you've just got to know how I'm pretty sure you could do with CSS although I haven't checked it properly yet. For anyone else who is getting familiar with the CSS, I was thinking of this to at least get alternating row colours. If you work it out, feel free to post your solution if I haven't (I don't have the time or sleep to go through it right now).EDIT: So I've got the CSS worked out for having the board and thread rows alternate between background 1 and 2. Add to the bottom of the style sheet (Themes > Colors and styles): .list tr:nth-child(2n+1).board, .list tr:nth-child(2n+1).thread {background-color: @container_background_color_2;} This one won't work in IE 8 and below but will in pretty much everything else. You'll be able to do it in a way IE8 will like using templates if you need to cater to the lowest denominator. As for the more V4-like style of the board/thread icon, total posts and total views columns being the alternate background colour, there is this (slightly wordier) CSS you can use: .list tr.item > td.main, .list tr.item > td.checkbox, .list tr.item > td.created-by, .list tr.item > td.latest {background-color: @container_background_color_2;} This way does work in IE 8 (and IE 7 too)As a tip to everyone else, the part I've bolded is a "Less CSS" variable (PB now use this for style sheet) which, last I checked, is automatically updated when you edit the colours in the Easy Theme Creator. You add the bit of CSS in once then don't need to worry about fiddling with the style sheet when you want to update the colour! And some people are saying V5 makes customisation hard...

Wait you have lost me with this. So we put this: .list tr.item > td.icon, .list tr.item > td.replies, .list tr.item > td.views, .list tr.item > td.threads, .list tr.item > td.posts {background-color: @container_background_color_2;} In our Codes if I understand you right then that will give us the two alternating colors? Right now I have this and I rather my board be two different colors. Then my Beta Site I have this. I do not like it so how can we have alternate colors? Thanks Chrissy

In the admin area, go to Themes > Colors and styles > Style sheet tab. When it's loaded, scroll to the bottom and copy that code (the second one in my post) into it and save the changes.
