I am starting to get the hang of it although there is still a lot to get my head around. Buuuut I hope I will be ready for the actual conversion.
One of my admins was not too pleased with it at first. But she is starting to warm up to it. Now all I need is for my members to try and test it out. I know some of them will get a heart attack when they try posting for the first time.
But the fact that we can do so much more on the forum as an admin is like being a kid and get all these colourful play dough to have fun with.

What, no multi-quote? *pout* I'm really excited about the new Like feature. Now I can see just how few people actually enjoy reading my posts. ;D What, no multi-quote? *pout* You have to gear icon -> Select each post, then click the Reply button at the top-right of the quick reply box. I am starting to get the hang of it although there is still a lot to get my head around. Buuuut I hope I will be ready for the actual conversion. I just got my board converted and I have to say I am at a loss of words. Everything that I knew and loved about ProBoards, such as the ease of accessibility in the admin panel, is gone. Everything is so much more difficult to access now. It's an entirely new system, and I don't know if I will ever be able to get used to it. I wish we didn't have to convert. I am completely lost, and no I do not want an explanation, or a guide...I want the old version back.

...I'm speechless, v5 was everything that I didnt expect and not in a good way. v4's much more admin friendly, everything is right there instead of having to go through this and that to get to what you actually want in v5. None of the style tags and enhancements to have those pretty templates, ugh. I don't think i'll ever get used to v5 and i think a few people will leave proboards because of this, myself included. I dunno if i'll ever return to proboards, perhaps if v4 was made an option to have but for now invisionfree and jcink shall become my new best friends.

It sounds like you simply haven't given it time to go through the admin pages. You are simply used to the old way and don't want to consider that there can be quicker, easier ways to do things. The v5 admin panel is simpler than v4's. It takes less clicks to accomplish the same things. Our Support team is ready and willing to help you with any areas you are not familiar with. Just post on the Support Board asking for help and we're here to provide it. Give v5 a fair chance before you outright dismiss it; you're going to be passing up a huge upgrade.

I appreciate the work that you and the rest of the proboards team have done but the new version just isn't for me.

Do you not like that you no longer have to deal with header and footer codes (you can if you want...), but rather you can simply upload a plugin to our server and configure through a visual interface (instead of needing to edit HTML code)? Do you not like being able to change the colors of your forum while seeing a live preview of those changes? Or is it that you can edit every member group at once instead of having to click through 4 different pages (like v4 requires) just to make simple changes? Or perhaps you don't like having access to the full HTML of every page via the template system? I hope my point makes some sense

lol, it made sense to me! I'd move back to ProBoards If we were able to use API to display login information, and posts on a 3rd party site. I do admin another forum so all this would make everything so much easier for just a simple forum like the one I am on.

We will be working on a full API after launch of v5 (it was originally planned for launch, however we simply do not have enough time while trying to make our timetable).

ROYALPHOENIX, well that's sad to hear. I've come to learn that you can never please everyone. The majority of people are happy with the advances v5 brings to the forum world, and if you choose to leave that is of course your option. We'll be sorry to see you go, though. Of course, our offer always stands to help you out with any and all questions you have at v5. Just head over to the Support Board and our team will assist you should you choose to stay.

Ahaha. We shall see. Also would you have to buy a domain to have full API? or will it be limited due to the functionality of the domain names? I bought the forums domain so I can to use full API of their system. But come to think of it, I do think it needs to be in the same domain path. Egh, not quite sure. I'll wait for a professional response.

With the other service the login isn't a full functional thing until you bought the domain. You can login on the site, but wouldn't be logged into the forum if logged out on both sites. Thought I may not bring my Web host or my advertising site to proboards as things are already set up the way I like it to be, but I'll play around with another forum and a site, and see how it goes if I do like the way things are then I'll see about moving completely.
